Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a holistic, non-invasive method of healthcare that treats the whole body. It was developed in the U.S. and has been helping people recover from pain and health problems naturally, without drugs and surgery, for over 115 years. Chiropractic is beneficial for patients of all ages and an ideal therapy for infants, children, teenagers, and adults.

The diagram above illustrates how chiropractic care to the spine can effectively treat internal organ problems

Doctors of Chiropractic are trained to diagnose and resolve misalignments (subluxations) of the spinal vertebrae, which often influence other organs. By correcting the misaligned vertebra and returning it to its proper position, the chiropractic adjustment enables the body to heal itself. For example, common digestive problems such as heartburn, intolerance to fried or spicy foods, menstrual problems, and respiratory conditions are often helped by gentle manipulation of the vertebra, restoring proper functioning to the nerves that control these organs.

Under chiropractic care, Dr. Lux will use his hands, various instruments, therapeutic machines, and a wide variety of holistic therapies to treat health conditions throughout the body and remove irritation in the nervous system. These gentle treatments, which patients find pleasant and effective, help relieve pain and promote natural healing.

The chiropractic model of health is centered on the philosophy that:

  • The body and mind are an inter-related, self-healing system.
  • A healthy nervous system is the key to a healthy body. Disorders of the spine, muscles and nerves can disrupt the body’s balance and increase the risk of disease and other health problems.
  • Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) promote the healing process by using gentle adjustments (manipulations) to the spine and other body structures to help the nervous system heal the body.

The chiropractic, drug-free approach to healthcare includes patient examination and diagnosis to arrive at a recommended course of therapy. Nutrition, rehabilitative exercise programs, wellness and lifestyle modifications are also recommended for promoting physical and mental health. Typically, most health conditions addressed by chiropractic care require a series of treatments, not only to relieve the pain, but to correct the underlying causes of the condition and prevent future relapses. When necessary, Dr. Lux may refer a patient to other medical practitioners for further diagnosis or co-treatment.

With over 35 years of chiropractic orthopedic and neurologic experience Dr. Lux is able to diagnosis whether the cause of your pain stems from nervous system conditions or other health problems. Dr. Lux combines advanced methods of Applied Kinesiology, NET (Neuro Emotional Technique), Cranial, and Trigger-Point Therapy in his holistic practice.
