Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) can develop due to an injury to the wrist, over-activity, repetitive finger and hand use, arthritis, and poor work ergonomics. CTS occurs when the median nerve in the wrist becomes compressed and often results in pain, weakness, tingling and numbness in the index and middle fingers, thumb, radiating up into the forearm. CTS sufferers can also experience loss of strength in the muscles, difficulty grabbing and holding onto objects, and loss of sleep.

Dr Lux will adjust the body joints of the wrist, elbow, and upper spine to relieve Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and improve nerve function, finger, wrist, and hand sensation. In addition to chiropractic, Dr. Lux uses complementary holistic therapies such as Applied Kinesiologyultrasound therapy, electric muscle stimulation, and acupuncture to stimulate blood flow to the wrists and hands and ease numbness and swelling in the area thereby promoting circulation and restoring normal nerve function. Laser acupuncture, which involves using a handheld laser instead of acupuncture needles, is also beneficial for CTS. In addition, nutritional supplements and dietary modifications are recommended.
